## How to make an AI birthday song with their name: step by step

1. Write the lyrics with the person's name on the first and last line of the chorus and two or three true details; keep each line under 10 syllables
2. Make two versions: ElevenLabs Music sings names as written and keeps the length; Lyria 3.5 makes longer songs (spell the name phonetically if its checker refuses it). Never paste the traditional 'Happy birthday to you' verse
3. Transcribe the song with Whisper, check that the name is sung and spelled right, and note the second it is first sung

A song that sings the name is the most personal birthday gift and one of the biggest birthday searches ("birthday song with name": 556 distinct Google and YouTube suggestions), yet on X it lives as links, not posts. The craft is the lyrics: the name on the chorus, two or three true details, original words. Music models now sing a name as written in seconds, for about 10 credits.

1. **Write the lyrics yourself and put every line in the prompt; the name on the first and last line of the chorus.** Models left to invent lyrics forget the name or sing it once; ElevenLabs Music sang every written line and the name in our test. 2. **Use original words, never the traditional "Happy birthday to you" verse, even though the song is public domain.** The song has been public domain in the US since the 2016 settlement and in the EU since 2017, but Lyria 3.5’s content checker refused every prompt that quoted it in our tests. 3. **If a model refuses or mispronounces the name, spell it the way it sounds or switch models.** Lyria refused "Maya" (also an artist’s name) and sang "Lena"; ElevenLabs Music sang "Maya" as written. 4. **Transcribe the song before you cut: start at the line before the first sung name.** ElevenLabs Music kept the exact 32 s but started singing at 9.9 s; Lyria ignored the length (67 s for 32 s asked). 5. **Clone a voice only with its owner’s consent; never a celebrity’s voice.** ElevenLabs limits professional clones to your own voice and blocks celebrity voices. **Stopped working:**

- Generic lyrics from a simple prompt: one-star reviews of song services say "nothing personal about it".
- Quoting the traditional verse or a commercial song in a music model prompt.
- Unofficial Suno APIs: they break Suno’s terms; free Suno songs are non-commercial only.
- Cloning a parent’s or a celebrity’s voice without their consent.
