# App Screens on a Rail — effect skill for grids & carousels

> **For AI agents:** find the right skill in one call — `curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"` returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add `.md` to its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.

Two to five app screens ride a horizontal rail: one centered and sharp, neighbors smaller and receded.

- **Publisher:** HeyGen (community)
- **License:** Apache-2.0

## What it does

Built on [Screen Flow Carousel](https://github.com/heygen-com/hyperframes/tree/main/registry/components/screen-flow-carousel) by HeyGen (HyperFrames), Apache-2.0. The write-up and recipes below are varg's.

Phone-sized screens in a row; the rail slides with momentum and snaps the next screen to center with a small overshoot.

**When:** Walk through an app flow (onboarding → home → detail) without device frames.

**Watch out:** Do not let side screens compete; scale them to ~80% and dim them 30–40%.

**Timing:** Slide 0.5–0.7 s with snap overshoot (back.out 1.2); 1.5–2.5 s per screen.

**Also called:** screen carousel, app screens, screen flow

### In HyperFrames

```bash
npx hyperframes add screen-flow-carousel
```
Or `velocity-throw-snap` for a fast whip to the chosen screen.

### In Remotion

```tsx
const idx = interpolate(frame,[0,60,120],[0,1,2],{extrapolateRight:'clamp'});
screens.map((s,i)=>{const d=i-idx; return <Img src={s} style={{transform:`translateX(${d*420}px) scale(${1-Math.min(Math.abs(d),1)*0.2})`, opacity:1-Math.min(Math.abs(d),1)*0.35}}/>})
```

### In CapCut

Place screens in a row as one long image; keyframe Position X with snaps; add a blur mask on the sides.

## Use when

- Walk through an app flow (onboarding → home → detail) without device frames.

## Not for

- Do not let side screens compete; scale them to ~80% and dim them 30–40%.

## Run the generation on varg

varg is one API key for the models these skills drive — Seedance 2.5, Kling 4, Veo 3.1, Wan 3, Nano Banana 2.1, GPT Image 2.5, ElevenLabs v4 and 200+ more — billed in credits, with a cost estimate before anything runs.
