CapCut Draft Automation — effect skill for transitions
For AI agents: find the right skill in one call —
curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add.mdto its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.
Generate CapCut/JianYing drafts from code, with real CapCut transitions on each cut, then export in the app.

What it does
An editable CapCut project with Mix, Pull in, Glitch etc. already on the timeline.
When: Mass-producing variants that creators finish in CapCut; teams living in CapCut.
Watch out: Expecting headless export: these tools write drafts; rendering still happens in the CapCut app. Templates must have a plaintext draft_content.json (encrypted drafts are unsupported).
Timing: Default per transition (e.g. Mix 1.0 s, Pull in 0.47 s) unless set
Also called: pyCapCut, pyJianYingDraft, VectCut API, capcut-mate, JianYing draft, CapCut draft JSON
In CapCut
pyCapCut (English CapCut; preview 0.1.x API, pin 0.0.4 for the old one). The transition is added to the earlier segment:
import pycapcut as cc
from pycapcut import trange_seconds
draft = cc.DraftFolder(r'<CapCut Drafts folder>').create_draft('auto', 1080, 1920, allow_replace=True)
draft.add_track(cc.TrackType.video)
a = cc.VideoSegment('a.mp4', trange_seconds(0, duration=4))
b = cc.VideoSegment('b.mp4', trange_seconds(4, duration=4))
a.add_transition(cc.TransitionType.White_Flash, duration='0.4s')
draft.add_segment(a).add_segment(b)
draft.save()
pyJianYingDraft is the JianYing (Chinese) sibling with Chinese enum names (e.g. TransitionType.叠化 for Mix). VectCutAPI (HTTP/MCP) takes transition and transition_duration (seconds) on add_video, resolved against CapCut_Transition_type names such as Mix, Black_Fade, Pull_in, Glitch, Cube. capcut-mate's add_videos takes transition (JianYing display name, e.g. 叠化) and transition_duration in microseconds. Open the draft in CapCut desktop and export manually.

More transitions skills
- editly: Declarative JSON5 video editing CLI/API: clips, titles, transitions, audio mixing, rendered with ffmpeg.
- Mix (Cross Dissolve): The two shots blend through each other. The quietest transition: "time passes" or "this continues".
- Dip to Black: A fades to black, then B fades up. Marks the end of a section or a bigger jump in time.
- White Flash: The frame blows out to white for a moment and opens on the next shot. Energy, memory or a camera snap.
- Pull In (Zoom In): The camera rushes into shot A and lands, still moving forward, in shot B. The signature short-form transition.
- Pull Out (Zoom Out): The camera jerks backwards out of shot A and keeps pulling back as shot B settles in.
