SmartCut (capcut-ai-editor) — guide skill for cuts & pacing
For AI agents: find the right skill in one call —
curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add.mdto its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.
MCP that reads CapCut auto-captions to cut silences and duplicate takes right inside your CapCut project.

What it does
Record, import into CapCut and generate auto captions, then ask Claude to 'smart cut' the project. SmartCut uses the caption timing to remove gaps over one second and keeps only the last attempt when a phrase is repeated, writing the changes back to the CapCut project for review. Works locally without API keys; OpenAI is optional for better duplicate detection.
Use when
- clean up a talking-head recording in CapCut
- drop repeated takes automatically
- keep the edit editable in CapCut
Install
- Any MCP client:
pip install -e . (inside the cloned repo), then add the venv python to your MCP config
