## What it does

Descript offers a hosted MCP server (OAuth, scoped to one Drive) and a separate API in open beta. Through MCP an assistant can import and transcribe media, run Underlord edits such as filler-word removal and Studio Sound, search projects, publish to get an MP4 link and export transcripts; it is in Claude's connector directory.

## Use when

- clean up a podcast or interview with Descript's tools
- remove filler words via chat
- publish a finished Descript project

## Not for

- YouTube URL imports
- exporting files without publishing
