Turn a character into a game sprite sheet — workflow skill for animation & motion graphics
For AI agents: find the right skill in one call —
curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add.mdto its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page. From a terminal:curl -fsSL https://varg.ai/install | shinstalls the vargai CLI (https://varg.ai/how-to/cli.md):vargai searchandvargai install <slug>with no key, every varg model aftervargai login.
2D game sprite sheets on GPT Image 2.6: a 4x4 spec that slices cleanly into frames, a GIF and a Phaser atlas.
- Type: Workflow · Animation & motion graphics
- Slug:
gpt-image-sprite-sheet - Status: live
- Publisher: varg (varg, verified)
- License: MIT
- Source: https://github.com/vargHQ/skills/tree/main/gpt-image-sprite-sheet
- Works in: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI
- Requires: varg API key (VARG_API_KEY) or the varg MCP
- Cost: 6 credits per sheet — 6 credits per sheet; slicing and the atlas are free (ImageMagick).
- Runtime: About 10-60 s per image on varg (Sunburst ~50 s); scripts run locally in seconds
What it does
Make 2D game sprite sheets with GPT Image 2.6 on varg and turn them into game-ready files: a strict 4×4 sheet spec (16 frames, equal cells, fixed scale and ground line; credited to @SSSS_CRYPTOMAN, translated from Japanese), then scripts/slice.sh cuts the sheet into frames, keys out the background, puts every frame on one ground line, and writes a looping GIF, a clean atlas PNG and a JSON atlas (TexturePacker JSON Hash) for Phaser, with the Godot steps. Also covers the native GIF route and turning its frames into an atlas. Use when someone asks for a sprite sheet, a run, walk, idle or attack cycle, game character animation frames, a texture atlas, or Phaser or Godot sprites from an AI image. Not for chat stickers (gpt-image-sticker-pack), a single looping GIF for the web (gpt-image-gif) or pixel-art sprites (the model fails at pixel art).

Not for
- chat stickers (gpt-image-sticker-pack)
- a single looping GIF for the web (gpt-image-gif)
- pixel-art sprites (the model fails at pixel art)
