Cut on Action — effect skill for cuts & pacing

Change angle while the subject moves. The movement hides the cut and keeps continuity.

What it does

Built on Cut the Curve by HeyGen (HyperFrames), Apache-2.0. The write-up and recipes below are varg's.

Wide to close-up as a hand reaches, a person sits or a head turns; viewers watch the motion, not the edit.

When: Any coverage of the same action from two angles: interviews, cooking, product handling, sport.

Watch out: Cutting before the movement starts or after it ends loses the cover; cut in the first third of the motion.

Timing: Cut 2–4 frames after movement begins; overlap a frame or two of action

In FFmpeg

Same as a hard cut: pick the out-frame on A and in-frame on B inside the motion (trim=end_frame= / trim=start_frame=).

In HyperFrames

Two <video> clips with data-media-start chosen so the move continues; data-start="a" keeps them butted.

In Remotion

Use <Series>; preview at full speed, the cut must be judged in motion.

In CapCut

Split both angles at the motion point; multi-camera clips can also be lined up on stacked tracks and cut between.
