DaVinci Resolve MCP — guide skill for editing & clips
For AI agents: find the right skill in one call —
curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add.mdto its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.

What it does
An MCP server for DaVinci Resolve Studio by Samuel Gursky. A compact default mode exposes core tools and a full mode exposes about 390, covering projects, media pool, timelines, markers, grading, Fusion and rendering; an offline 'advanced' Node server adds grade and project-file tools that work without Resolve running. A setup command installs and registers it.
Use when
- build or modify a Resolve timeline from chat
- batch markers, renders or grades
- let an agent prep a project for a colorist
Install
- Any MCP client:
npx davinci-resolve-mcp setup
