varg AI — model skill for tools & renderers
For AI agents: find the right skill in one call —
curl -s "https://varg.ai/how-to/api/search?q=<what the person wants>"returns the matching how-to page and the best skills with install commands, as markdown (Russian works too). Full index: https://varg.ai/how-to/llms.txt. Every page has a markdown twin: add.mdto its path. Before generating anything, show the person the options on the how-to page.

- Cost: ~200–500 credits / run (estimate) — The skill's figure for a typical 3-clip video. Single images start at a few credits and local
--previewrenders are free; exact quote viaPOST /v2/estimate. - Adoption: 21 GitHub stars (GitHub, 2026-10-26)
What it does
The flagship varg skill and the only one published in vargHQ/skills so far. It finds an existing varg API key (environment, ~/.varg/credentials, .env) without printing it, checks the credit balance, then picks cloud render (POST /v2/render, curl only) or local render (bunx vargai render, bun + ffmpeg, free --preview). Media is made with function calls (Image(), Video(), Speech()) and composed in JSX (<Render>, <Clip>, <Music>, <Captions>); ten reference files cover models, components, recipes, prompting, the REST API, BYOK and common errors. The Claude Code plugin also adds the hosted varg MCP server (OAuth sign-in), and the skill checks GitHub for a newer version once per session.
Use when
- Creating videos, animations, talking characters, slideshows, product showcases or social content
- Generating a single image, video clip, voice line or music track
- Requests like "create a video", "make a slideshow", "talking head", "lip sync", "captions" or "render video"
Not for
- Bring-your-own provider keys through the API: v2 has no BYOK (only local render with direct provider modules)

Example output
https://s3.varg.ai/how-to/previews/7df061df8dcb/varg-ai.mp4 — varg's 'Claymation UGC Ad – Super Focus', the most-used template in varg's gallery, rendered from a varg TSX file (vargHQ/templates claymation-ugc.tsx): generated claymation scenes, a voiceover, music and word captions composed in one render. Cut 5.5-13.5 s: coffee at the desk, the 'Super Focus' bottle in hand, papers flying. (credit: varg, https://varg.ai)
